    Kim Davis

    CasaLingua Director and Tutor

    Most classes - French, Spanish and Italian - are delivered by Kim. Kim is an experienced teacher and teaches adults and children at CasaLingua Language School (Consett) as well as online. She offers one-to-one lessons for adults and has a proven record of achieving outstanding results with her GCSE and A level students.

    Kim is responsible for the organisation and administration of all of the CasaLingua lessons and is also the person to which you should direct questions if you wish to become part of our tutor team.

    Kim hosts in-house language themed events as well as collaborating with other businesses in the local area. If you want Kim to come to you, get in touch!

    Melanie Cornforth

    CasaLingua French and Spanish tutor

    Melanie is a French native from Poitiers who has lived in the UK since 2012 and now works at a local North-East Primary school as a teaching assistant.

    Melanie obtained her qualifications in France and has a LLCE (Langues, Litérature et Civilisation Étrangère) in Spanish and a Masters degree in Primary Teaching. She is also a Mum of 2 and is committed to raising both of her little ones as bilingual.

    Melanie teaches CasaLingua’s primary French students and, moving forward, will also have some availability for one to one tuition.

    Claire Tomlinson

    CasaLingua Spanish Tutor

    Claire studied Spanish, German and French at Durham University and has taught languages to all ages for over 10 years. She is passionate about sharing her love for new languages and cultures.

    Claire currently lives and works in the South of England and therefore teaches CasaLingua’s online Spanish course.

    In future, Claire is keen to take on further Spanish classes and also add German to our online programme!

    Gemma Lawley

    I am delighted to welcome Gemma Lawley, a fluent French speaker and experienced practitioner, to our team.

    Before training as a teacher, Gemma spent two years living in the Midi-Pyrénées, working as an assistant. These formative experiences in France fuelled her enthusiasm to share the French language and culture when she returned to the UK.

    Gemma spent a decade teaching French and German (upto KS4) in a Greater London Secondary school before moving up to York. Here, she worked for the University delivering French to adult learners. Gemma is going to be running GCSE French masterclasses and online groups for adults. She also has some availability for one to ones.

    David Khachikian

    David is a Secondary qualified MFL and Maths teacher currently working in the North-East. Kim and David worked in Secondary school together in the Italian department and they share a passion for Italy and this beautiful language!

    David is going to be teaching CasaLingua’s latest online Italian course (beginners) but he is also able to teach French and Spanish - and, of course, is able to offer GCSE Maths tuition!

    I am delighted to be working with David again and know that he will provide excellent tuition - and I promise you that his enthusiasm is infectious!

    Susie Pelly

    Susie is a Secondary qualified Spanish teacher with experience of teaching in Kent grammar schools as well here in the North-East. Susie is passionate about Latin America having lived in Argentina for over 3 years and studied a Masters in Latin American Development. She has a degree in English Literature and Hispanic Studies from Queen Mary, University of London and previously worked in politics in Westminster.

    Susie combines her interests in politics, culture and languages in her teaching. Susie is responsible for CasaLingua’s new Advanced Spanish course and will also run a ‘Holiday Spanish’ short course in the early summer. She also has some availability for 1-1 tuition.
